My name is Hayley O’Neill and I am the Nursery Manager here at Radcliffe Road Day Nursery.
I am N.N.E.B. qualified and I have worked at Radcliffe Road and Scotts Wood Day Nursery (our sister nursery) for 17 years. Initially I helped set up and open our first site on Selby Road in 1997 followed in 2000 by the opening of the Radcliffe Road site. Since then I have overseen both sites. With the help of our officer in charge – Libby Curran – and an excellent staffing and management team we have created nurseries with an excellent reputation that are well known throughout the local area. Being a parent of four children myself I aspire to provide the very best care and early years education available. I love my job and the opportunity to be surrounded daily by children, their parents and our wonderful staff.
We operate from a homely detached Edwardian nursery in West Bridgford, minutes from Nottingham City Centre, with our own large and well equipped outdoor play space.
Not every day nursery in West Bridgford has wonderful facilities for both indoor and outdoor play.
Situated at 124-126 Radcliffe Road, near Trent Bridge our West Bridgford nursery has both, and we’ve provided lots of information about our facilities on our Our Nursery page. We’ve also included plenty of photos of our children learning and playing at nursery throughout our website. "Thank you" to our parents for giving us permission to share these photos. We also have a ‘sister’ nursery - Scotts Wood Day Nursery - on Selby Road - details of which can be found on their website www.scottswooddaynursery.co.uk. We run a fabulous nursery there too, and they operate to the same principles and high standards as us.
Our approach to childcare
We explain our philosophy in some detail on our Caring For Your Child page, where we also describe many of the key principles that we apply to our practice. I think that this is particularly important, as not every West Bridgford nursery operates in the same way. We describe our ‘Key Person Approach’ and the way that this enables us to know both you and your child really well – and better meet your child’s needs. We also explain how our nursery and outdoor environments help us to best meet your child’s development needs.
Here at Radcliffe Road we ensure that we prioritise our partnership with parents. We always work closely with parents to ensure that we meet their individual needs. It is important to me that we create a homely environment, where children feel safe, cared for, valued and loved - and where they can genuinely feel secure enough to relax and enjoy learning through play. I believe that the relationships that my team and I build with parents are as important as the relationships we build with our children, and that these relationships are the key to both a happy nursery and the successful provision of outstanding childcare.
Information about our nursery
We’ve tried to include as much information as possible here on our website, and you’ll find much of it on our Parent Information page, although I’d also encourage you to visit us. Alongside our sister nursery, we are open from 8am – 6pm, Monday – Friday for 51 weeks of the year (we close during Christmas week) and offer a variety of sessions to suit most family’s individual needs at competitive and inclusive prices. We also offer FREE childcare places for ALL 3 and 4 year old children (and many 2 year olds), and provide nutritious ‘home cooked’ lunches and teas – the details of which are all explained on this page.
Have a look around the best day nursery in West Bridgford
Of course it’s natural to be proud of your nursery when you work with a team who strive to provide wonderful care to children every day - and I’m no exception. I truly believe that alongside our ‘sister’ nursery, Radcliffe Road Day Nursery is the best nursery in West Bridgford. I hope that our parent testimonials bear this out – and you may also enjoy reading our latest OFSTED Report, in which OFSTED rated us “Outstanding” in every aspect of the care that we provide.
Finally, while we regard Radcliffe Road as a West Bridgford nursery, we also have many parents who use us from across Nottinghamshire – and especially from local villages. We’ve included a map showing our location on our Contact Us page - as well as our contact details for the nursery. If you feel that we could be of interest to you, then please come in to meet our team and let us show you around. To arrange a visit, please give us a call on 0115 981 5281 or simply pop in.
